Walter Gropius (1883-1969) occupied the director's detached house from 1925 to 1928

Called to Weimar as the director of the high school for art and design, unified as "The State Bauhaus in Weimar".
The rightwing parties in the Thurigian parliament bring increasing political and economic pressure to bear. Gropius and the Masters resign.
Move to Dessau and re-founding as the "Dessau Bauhaus, High School for design". Building of the Bauhaus and the Masters' Houses.
Resigns as director of the Bauhaus. Architect in Berlin as well as intensive lecturing about new building forms and the Bauhaus.
